50th-anniversary trips across Bavaria that mix adventure, culture and gastronomy.
“Canada based Butterfield & Robinson (www.butterfield.com) has been crafting mixed adventure, cultural and gastronomic itineraries with the best of them for half a century.
To celebrate their original passion – cycling – founders George and Martha Butterfield and Sidney Robinson will be among the leaders of a six-day tour across Bavaria (from £4,020 per person, excluding flights), tracing the route of the very first cycling trip B&R ever offered, back in 1966, from Munich to Salzburg. Guests will stop at Lake Starnberg (pictured), spend a night in the gemütliche surrounds of Kitzbühel’s Hotel Tennerhof and take a turn at glassblowing with the masters at Riedel. There are five departures: June 12 and 26 and September 4, 11 and 18.”
