Butterfield & Robinson Danube Biking Cruise
Published by Global Traveler
No Time like Fall for an Active Getaway
There’s no time like fall for an active getaway. Butterfield & Robinson invites you to enjoy the crisp air in fall 2016 while cruising and peddling through four countries on the new Danube River Cruise and Bike Tour (Sept. 4–11, 2016). Arrive in Munich and peddle to Passau, Germany. Board the luxurious River Beatrice, then begin a journey that follows the Danube all the way to Budapest. Days are spent floating along and enjoying the scenery, or cycling along the river’s banks on the longest dedicated biking path in Europe.
Highlights along the way include a tour of Passau’s historic city area, the vineyards of Wachau, an optional hike among castle ruins, a walk through Vienna, Slovakia’s capital city of Bratislava, a tour of Budapest, and a visit to Melk Abbey and its Garden of Paradise planted with historically-used medicinal plants, plus the garden’s Baroque pavilion. Top guides and gourmet food are part of the eight day, seven-night experience, which begins at $7,995 per person ($2,000 single supplement).
