Where to Rest Your Head: Reykjavik Hotels

Hotel Borg

Not only is it one of the coolest hotel’s in Reykjavik, this one also made Norm’s list of the coolest hotels in all of Iceland—and for good reason. Classical architecture and old-world elegance, combined with its prime location in the heart of the old city, make Hotel Borg an obvious choice.

101 Hotel
With contemporary design, luxurious amenities and an in-house art gallery, 101 was named Iceland’s leading boutique hotel in 2012 and 2013 by the World Travel Awards—and with good reason. Relax and unwind in the spa’s steam bath, then grab a drink or a bite to eat at the trendy but casual restaurant.

Reykjavik Marina Hotel
Housed in a refurbished three-story building, the Reykjavik Marina provides a stylish and colourful look at the city’s old downtown harbour district. The Marina’s design aesthetic combines modern Icelandic design with items salvaged from around the harbour, resulting in a unique blend of old and new, much like the building its housed in, which was previously home to a paint factory and a carpentry shop, among other things.
